Your roof can pay your electricity bill.

Household tariffs have climbed tier by tier, and the top tier now costs EGP 2.89 per kWh. Rooftop solar cuts the most expensive part of your bill first.

Why homeowners call us

  • Bills that jump when summer pushes you into a higher tier.
  • Power cuts that stop the AC, the water pump and the fridge.
  • Compound common areas, pools and lighting that run all day on the grid.

What you get

  • Rooftop solar sized to your consumption
  • Battery backup for essential loads during power cuts
  • Net metering paperwork handled with your distribution company
  • Production monitoring on your phone
  • Cleaning and maintenance plans

Example: a villa using 1,200 kWh a month, 120 m² of roof

Bill saved at the top tier
about EGP 36,800 a year (bill from about EGP 400 to 3,470 a month)
Indicative price
about EGP 184,000
Payback
about 5.3 years at today's tariffs, 4.8 if tariffs rise 5% a year

From the price list used by our calculator: EGP 30,600 per kWp up to 10 kWp. Battery backup adds EGP 120,000. Site-specific works are not included; your final price follows a site survey, and the price list is reviewed every year. Reviewed 22 October 2026.

What affects the price

  • System size, set by your consumption and the roof area available
  • Roof type and the mounting structure it needs
  • Battery backup, if you want essential loads to keep running during power cuts
  • Cable runs and the distance from the roof to your main electrical panel

FAQ

Will it work during a power cut?

A grid-tied system without batteries switches off for safety when the grid fails. Add a battery and your essential circuits keep running.

Can I sell power back to the grid?

Egypt's net metering scheme credits surplus power against your future bills, subject to your distribution company's approval of the connection. We prepare the application and submit it to your distribution company.

How long do panels last?

Quality panels usually carry a 25-year performance warranty. The inverter usually needs replacing once in that time, and we plan for it in your quote.

What about compounds?

We design shared systems for common areas, pools, lighting and pumps, and individual systems for villas, under one contract.

Who handles the permits, and how long do they take?

We prepare the technical file and submit it to your electricity distribution company, which reviews the design and approves the connection before you export power. Egypt Today reported on 18 May 2026 that the Ministry of Electricity is easing requirements for home rooftop solar, while coordination with the distribution company still applies to net-metered systems. We confirm the current rules, timing and fees with your distribution company for each project, because they vary by area and system size. We do not promise a connection date, because the distribution company controls it.

How is payback calculated, and can I check it?

Yearly saving is your bill before solar minus your bill after, using the household tiers (or your diesel price). Cost is the Reservia price list. We include 0.5% yearly panel loss, upkeep at 1% of the price a year and an inverter replacement in year 12. The headline figure uses today's tariffs, and a second figure assumes tariffs rise 5% a year. No financing and no tax effects. Open the calculator and change any input.

Is solar worth it for a small home?

Often it takes a long time. At today's tariffs, homes using under about 400 kWh a month take 10 years or more to pay back, and most homes under 1,000 kWh a month take 8 to 10 years. Solar pays most for homes above 1,000 kWh a month (about 5 years), and for farms and sites that run on diesel. The calculator shows the figure for your own bill.
